On the night of May 13th, the 77 year old male passed away. His next of kin was notified and he is identified as Joseph Patrick Rafferty, a Juneau resident.
The investigation is still ongoing.

On May 13th, 2016 at about 1:07pm, the Juneau Police Department received multiple 9-1-1 calls reporting a pedestrian had been hit by a vehicle on Willoughby Avenue. A bystander reported that a physician was on scene and performing CPR on the pedestrian.
JPD officers and Capital City Fire/Rescue were dispatched to the scene. Officers found that a 1991 Gray Ford Explorer operated by a 20 year old female struck a 77 year old Juneau man. The male sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to BRH by ambulance. A citation has not been issued and the investigation is continuing.
