On April 22, 2016, at about 11:30 in the evening, a Juneau Police Department officer, one who had received specialized training in crisis intervention, contacted the man involved in making threats at SEARHC the prior day. The officer had a court order compelling the man to participate in a mental health evaluation. The man agreed to cooperate with the officer. The man was left in the care of Bartlett Regional Hospital.

On April 21st, 2016, at about 3:45 in the afternoon, a 55 year old Juneau man walked into the Southeast Alaska Regional Health Consortium, or SEARHC, building at 1046 Salmon Creek Lane. The man wanted to see a treatment provider and became very upset when the person he asked for was not available. The man threatened to go get weapons and harm the people in the building.

Officers of the Juneau Police Department responded and did not locate the man in the area. The investigation revealed a history of similar threats by the same man and he had not acted upon the threats in the past. SEARHC management decided to have people leave the building and closed early for the day.

Officers are still checking locations for the man, but have not contacted him. The investigation is continuing.
