Subject: Motor Vehicle Collision

Summary:

On 03/24/2016, at approximately 9:33 AM, the Juneau Police Department received multiple 911 calls about a two car collision at the intersection of Egan Drive and Mendenhall Loop Road. The investigation revealed that a 2012 Chevy truck was driving on Egan Drive outbound, failed to stop for a steady red light, and was struck by a 2008 Ford Edge that was passing through the intersection, eastbound on Mendenhall Loop Road.

The driver of the Chevy truck was identified as 28 year old Juneau resident Paul M Lorentz. Lorentz was transported to the Bartlett Regional Hospital by ambulance personnel and treated for non-life threatening injuries. Lorentz was later cited for Negligent Driving.

The driver of the Ford was identified as a 20 year old male Juneau resident. The 20 year old male was also transported to the Bartlett Regional Hospital by ambulance personnel and treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Both vehicles were towed from the scene. Sections of the intersection were closed for approximately 35 minutes until the vehicles were removed.

Alcohol was not a factor in this collision.
