The female has been positively identified as 34 year old Juneau resident Miranda Ellen Davison. Next of kin has been notified. Davison's body will be flown to Anchorage for an autopsy with the Medical Examiner's Office.
The investigation is still continuing.

On Monday, 03/07/2016, at approximately 11:05 AM, the Juneau Police Department received multiple 911 calls about a shooting that took place in front of the Dimond Courthouse on 4th Street. The initial investigation indicates that a female shot herself in the chest with a handgun. No one else was hurt during the shooting.
A JPD officer was on scene within one minute. Captial City Fire Rescue personnel arrived on scene within minutes and the female was taken via ambulance to the Bartlett Regional Hospital. At approximately 11:37 AM, the female was declared deceased.
The female has not yet been identified and next of kin has not been notified. The victim is described as a middle aged white female.
