INFORMATION RELEASE

On Monday, 02/15/2016, at approximately 9:55 AM, the Juneau Police Department received a report from the Bartlett Regional Hospital that an assault victim had checked into the emergency room. JPD officers responded to BRH and contacted the 37 year old male victim. The male victim had injuries to his face, right arm, and right leg.

The male victim reported that on Sunday, 02/14/2016, at approximately 4:00 PM, he was at home in an apartment located in the 3200 block of Hospital Drive. Also in the apartment was a 29 year old male Juneau resident. The male victim said that Joshua Lehauli, a 28 year old Juneau resident, and a male he did not know came into his apartment. The male victim said that he got into a fight with Lehauli. The male victim said Lehauli hit him with a baseball bat several times, and held him at gunpoint. The male victim said over the next several hours he was assaulted and property was stolen from his residence.

Over the course of the investigation, between 8-10 JPD officers worked on this case. Multiple witnesses were interviewed, two search warrants were served, and several pieces of stolen property were recovered.

On Wednesday, 02/17/2016, at approximately 5:30 PM, Lehauli was located at a residence located in the 4300 block of Riverside Drive. Lehauli was arrested on an unrelated $5,000 arrest warrant original charge of two counts of Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance in the 4th Degree. Lehauli was transported to the Juneau Police Department, and then to the Lemon Creek Correctional Center. Lehauli was additionally charged with Robbery in the 1st Degree, Assault in the 1st Degree, and he was held on No Bail. Additional charges are pending.
