JPD detectives are continuing to investigate the robbery that occurred at the Travelodge several days ago. Further descriptors of the suspect are as follows: adult male, light to medium skin tone, 5?9? ? 6? tall, 250-300 pounds (heavy build), wearing black hooded coat with red shirt under, black pants, black shoes, and black gloves.

On December 1st, 2015 at about 7:53pm, the Juneau Police Department received a 9-1-1 call reporting a robbery at the Travelodge Hotel. The initial caller stated a woman had run through the Mi Casa Restaurant yelling that there was a man with a gun at the hotel.

Officers arrived on scene at about 7:57 and started an investigation and a search for the suspect. The investigation revealed that the suspect walked into the hotel toward the hotel clerk with his arm extended and hand covered under his sleeve as if he had a handgun. As the suspect walked by, he punched a man who attempted to intervene and then threatened a female by motioning as if he was putting a gun in her face. The suspect then went behind the hotel counter and physically assaulted the clerk. The suspect took an undisclosed amount of cash from the till and left the area on foot.

Officers searched the area and were unable to locate the suspect.

The suspect is described as being about six feet tall, 250 pounds, and wearing all black clothing with a ski mask.

The Juneau Police Department is working to identify a suspect in this case. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact JPD at 586-0600. The investigation in this case is continuing.
