INFORMATION RELEASE

Subject: MVC-Injury
Date: 2015-11-04
From: Sergeant Weske
Case or Incident: #151103-010
Summary:

On 11/3/15 at about 1836 hours, the Juneau Police Department (JPD) received a report of a motor vehicle collision involving two vehicles on Glacier Hwy near Fritz Cove Rd. JPD Officers and members of Capital City Fire and Rescue responded to the area.

The resulting investigation revealed that a 68 year old female, driving a 1999 Chrysler Town and Country, collided with a 49 year old female, driving a 2007 International box truck. The box truck traveled across the roadway after the collision and went down the embankment just past Fritz Cove Rd. Due to the size of the vehicle and the precarious location, it was unable to be towed from the scene at the time.

Both drivers were transported to Bartlett Regional Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries and later released. No citations were issued but may be forthcoming pending further investigation.

Glacier Hwy was fully or partially closed for about 45 minutes due to the collision.

All factual allegations contained in this release are based upon preliminary investigation and are subject to change or clarification as the investigation continues. Any charges reported in this release are merely accusations and all persons named in this release are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
