**********
On 09/16/2015, at approximately 7:25 AM, JPD was notified of a deceased male located in the Mendenhall wetlands area near the 7100 block of Egan Drive. In essence, two 23 year old duck hunters discovered the deceased male and contacted JPD.
JPD officers arrived and recovered the body of the deceased male. The body appeared to have been out in the elements for at least several days. The condition of male?s body prevented officers from determining his identity, age, race, or cause of death. The male appeared to be middle aged. The male was flown to the Medical Examiner?s Officer in Anchorage to establish the male?s identity and determine a cause of death.
A JPD records check for the last 30 days shows no unaccounted for missing persons. Anyone with information concerning the male?s identity is encouraged to contact JPD immediately.
The investigation is continuing.
