On September 13, 2015 at 3:10 AM, a Juneau Police officer saw two men in the area of Fifth Street and Franklin Street. One of the men was spraying a bench with spray paint. The officer attempted to contact the two men, who ran away. Police looked for and eventually located two intoxicated men in the area, aged 23 and 32, who were detained, identified, and later released.
The officers later found at least twenty acts of vandalism in the downtown area, which appeared to be related to the incident originally witnessed by the police officer. Charges will be forwarded against the two for Criminal Mischief. Persons whose property was damaged as a result of this incident are encouraged to contact the Juneau Police Department at 586-0600.
