On 09/17/2015, JPD investigators received a tip that the shooter from the September 13th incident was getting into a vehicle located in Switzer Village. Investigators were concerned that the suspected shooter would attempt to flee a second time. All four occupants of the vehicle were detained.

The other three occupants of the vehicle were identified and interviewed. The other three occupants included a 25 year old male California resident who had been interviewed at the time of the shooting. **********

On September 13th, 2015 at 6:10 AM, JPD received several calls from residents reporting gunshots in the 6500 block of Glacier Highway. Officers responded and were in the area almost immediately. At least two vehicles were seen leaving the area, and police attempted to stop the two cars. One of the vehicles briefly stopped for an officer who was on foot, but drove away as the officer began speaking with the driver. At the same time, another vehicle eluded an officer in a patrol car, and a brief pursuit ensued. The vehicle was found a short distance from the scene where the shots had been fired. The vehicle had crashed into a tree. Two people were seen fleeing from the vehicle, and a third man was detained. The man, a 26 year-old California resident, was later transported to the Bartlett Regional Hospital for what appeared to be minor injuries resulting from the crash.

Investigating officers located firearms which had been abandoned in the area of the shots. There were no reports of injuries, and officers are still actively investigating this incident. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Juneau Police Department at 586-0600, or you may submit an anonymous tip online at juneaucrimeline.com.
