On August 20th, 2015 at about 11:30am, 37 year old California resident, Maicya Joshua was arrested on a single count of Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance in the 3rd Degree, a class B Felony.
A parcel destined for Juneau containing controlled substances was intercepted in the U.S. Mail. The parcel contained methamphetamine and marijuana. The parcel was delivered to a hotel on Franklin Street in Juneau where Joshua, the recipient of the parcel, was contacted by law enforcement officers. He was subsequently arrested and transported to the Lemon Creek Correctional Center and held without bail.
The Juneau Police Department was assisted by agents from the United States Postal Inspection Service, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Coast Guard Investigative Service, the Alaska State Troopers, and the Sitka Police Department.
