The most recent Juneau Crime Line double reward program has paid $200 each to two people who reported an intoxicated driver. The latest double reward program ran from June 15th, 2015, to July 15th, 2015, to cover the July 4th holiday festivities.
The Juneau Crime Line Board is very proud that this community is beginning to see a downward trend in impaired driving arrests. DWI arrests are down in Juneau for a third consecutive year as of 2014, according to the Juneau Police Department?s just released annual report.
Crime Line has been an active partner with JPD in fighting impaired driving. The citizen board authorized $1300 in rewards divided among 10 different people reporting drunk drivers in 2014.
The Juneau Crime Line organization was formed in 1981. The Crime Line board has paid out approximately $25,000 since then to citizens who helped stop drunk drivers.
