INFORMATION RELEASE

Subject: Motor Vehicle Crash - Injuries
Date: 2015-07-12
From: Officer John Cryderman
Case or Incident: #150712-003
Summary:

On 07/12/2015, at about 0445 hours, the Juneau Police Department (JPD) received a report of a head on collision in the area of the 20 mile marker of Glacier Highway. Passersby stopped to help and reported some significant injuries to occupants of the vehicle, a white Ford F250.

Capital City Fire and Rescue (CCFR) also responded. Glacier Highway between 20 and 21 mile was shut down for about 30 minutes while CCFR personnel performed medical care for those involved in the crash. Once all three patients were secured in ambulances for transport to Bartlett Regional Hospital (BRH), one lane was opened up to traffic.

There were four total occupants of the vehicle. The driver and two passengers were transported to BRH for further care, and one passenger was uninjured. The uninjured passenger and another reported a dark colored vehicle had swerved into their lane of travel while they were heading in the outbound direction. The driver of the crashed vehicle swerved to the left to avoid a collision and went onto the side of the road, corrected back to the right, and then crashed. The vehicle came to rest on its top. There was no collision between the two vehicles.

Anyone with information regarding this crash is encouraged to call the Juneau Police Department or Crimeline.

This crash is still under investigation.

All factual allegations contained in this release are based upon preliminary investigation and are subject to change or clarification as the investigation continues.
