On 04/18/2015, at approximately 12:14 PM, JPD was notified that a suspicious male was attempting to fly out of Juneau. JPD officers contacted the male, who was identified as 52 year old Larry Randolph Powell of Bay Minette, Alabama.

Powell matched the description of the person who robbed Northrim Bank and he was found to be in possession of an undisclosed amount of cash. Powell was detained and taken to JPD for further investigation.

Powell was Arrested for Robbery in the 1st Degree, Theft in the 2nd Degree, and Terroristic Threats.

On 04/17/2015, at approximately 11:12 AM, the Juneau Police Department received a 911 call from Northrim Bank located in the 8700 block of Glacier Highway. The caller reported that the bank had been robbed.

The investigation revealed that a male entered the bank, claimed to be in possession of an explosive device, and left on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash. The male is described as either White and/or Alaskan Native, 40-60 years of age, with grey scruffy facial hair, wearing blue jeans, a black hooded coat, and a backpack. No one was hurt during the robbery.

JPD is asking for assistance in identifying a person of interest whose image was captured on security cameras. Two photographs of the person of interest are available on the JPD Facebook page.

Approximately 14 JPD officers and two FBI agents responded to the area to search for the suspect and deal with the incident at the bank.

The investigation is continuing.
