INFORMATION RELEASE

On April 9, 2015, at about 9:00 p.m., a man on a bicycle grabbed a bag from a woman who was leaving Little Hong Kong, a restaurant in the Mendenhall Mall. The woman works at the restaurant and the bag contained money and receipts from the business. The suspect used a bicycle to ride up behind the woman and grab the bag.

The young woman, who is only 5?2? inches tall, was not an easy victim. She chased the man, pulled him off the bike, knocked him to the ground, and retained the bicycle. The man ran off on foot with the bag.

The suspect is described as 5?8?, with possibly ?tan? skin. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and jeans and may have had a white t-shirt on under the sweatshirt. The bag the man took is a blue rectangle shaped bag with an NBA logo on the outside. The bike is a higher-end bicycle, Trek brand, and is possibly stolen.

JPD is looking for anyone who might have seen someone riding such a bike, which is made more identifiable by having a luggage carrier on the back and a bell. Officers are also hoping someone may have seen an individual with the bag or with receipts associated with the business.

Information leading to the identification of a suspect may result in a Crime Stoppers Reward.
