On 03/31/2015, at approximately 10:15 AM, the Juneau Police Department received a report that a bullet had been found in a secure area at the Juneau International Airport. In essence, a pilot was walking on a jet way and found one small caliber bullet. JPD officers were notified and the bullet was seized.
At approximately 10:20 AM, passengers in the departure lounge and on two planes were removed from the secure area. The departure lounge was searched and no unauthorized items were found. The search of both planes is currently taking place. The two planes affected were Alaska Airlines flight 61 and 62.
At approximately 10:45 AM, security screening began for the affected passenger to allow them back into the departure lounge area.
