On March 3, 2015 at approximately 4:31pm, the Juneau Police Department received a report of a pedestrian being hit by a vehicle on Egan Drive at Gold Creek.
Officer?s responded and found that a local 73 year old male had in fact been struck. Witnesses corroborated the drivers account that the 73 year old male tried to cross the highway, not a cross walk, and misjudged the opening.
The driver, a 59 years local male, attempted to avoid the collision but was unable to stop prior to striking the 73 year old male.
The male was transported to BRH for evaluation of his injures.
No citations were issued.
