On February 08, 2015, at about 6:43PM, the Juneau Police Department received multiple reports of a two vehicle accident on outbound Egan Drive, next to Fred Meyer. Capital City Fire/Rescue personnel as well as Officers of JPD were dispatched and responded.
Responding Emergency personnel located a blue 2001 Subaru Legacy with extensive front end damage blocking the outbound lanes of Egan Drive next to the Fred Meyer Access. A second vehicle, a red 2003 Ford truck, was in the ditch off the outbound merge lane from the Fred Meyer Access to Egan Drive. It was determined that the Subaru was operated by a 27 year old female and the Ford was operated by a 22 year old female.
The 27 year old female was transported to Bartlett Regional Hospital for treatment of minor injuries that were determined to be non-life threatening. The 27 year old female driver was later cited for Failing to Yield When Turning Left.
The Ford truck was estimated to have $2,500.00 of damage and the Suburu was totaled. Outbound Egan Drive was shut down at the Fred Meyer Access for approximately 45 minutes.
