On 01/03/2015 at 1:00 AM, Juneau Police received reports of an unknown disturbance on Front Street. One of the callers reported people holding a man down. Upon arrival, police saw two men, one of whom was challenging another to a fight. Police detained the man, 28 year-old local resident Jackson Buchanan. The investigation revealed Buchanan had assaulted a taxi cab driver as he sat in his parked taxi on Front Street. Buchanan caused minor injuries to the cab driver, and damage to his vehicle. Upon his arrest, Buchanan was uncooperative with police, and assaulted one of the arresting officers, causing a minor injury to the officer.
Buchanan was lodged at the Lemon Creek Correctional Center on two counts of Assault, Criminal Mischief, Disorderly Conduct, and Harassment. He was held on $2,000 bail. Alcohol was a factor in this incident.
