On 09-13-2014 at 8:54 PM, Juneau Police responded to a motor vehicle collision involving multiple vehicles at the corner of Mendenhall Loop Road and Egan Drive. Investigation revealed a 1998 Chevrolet truck, driven by a 19 year-old male, collided in the intersection with a 2006 GMC Yukon, driven by a 33 year-old female. The collision caused both vehicles to roll. The GMC in turn struck a 1992 Subaru driven by a 22 year-old male. The Subaru was pushed into a 2001 Mazda Prot?g?, driven by a 24 year-old male.
Several of the involved occupants sustained minor injuries and were treated at the scene. A five year-old female and a two year-old male who had been riding in the GMC were transported to the Bartlett Regional Hospital for treatment of apparently non life-threatening injuries.
The Chevrolet, GMC, and the Subaru were totaled. The Mazda received minor damage. Traffic was shut down on Egan Drive for about one hour during the investigation.
The driver of the Chevrolet was cited for Failure to Maintain Liability Insurance. Alcohol does not appear to be a factor. The investigation into the cause of the collision is continuing, and anyone who witnessed the incident should contact Sergeant Chris Gifford at 907-500-0619.

19 year-old Arron A. Mercer was cited for Failing to Stop at a Steady Red Light.
