On August 12, 2014 at about 1815 hours, the Juneau Police Department received a report of a domestic disturbance where a gunshot was heard. The incident occurred in the area of 6590 Glacier Highway, Switzer Village Trailer Park.
JPD officers responded to the area and contacted three people where the incident occurred. The investigation revealed Samuel StClair a 36-year-old local was having an argument with one of the residents over someone spending the night. StClair made statements of a suicidal nature and armed himself with a rifle. He fired one shot in the air at the ceiling of the trailer and not at anyone else. He was in a room alone when he did this. No one else in the home was harmed or threatened.
Subsequently, StClair was arrested and charged with Criminal Mischief DV a Class A Misdemeanor and one count of Misconduct Involving Weapon also a Class A Misdemeanor. He was lodged at the Lemon Creek Correctional Center and held without bail.
