On 08-06-2014 at 12:00 PM, Juneau Police received a request for assistance from the United States Coast Guard, who had located an intoxicated boater in the area outside of Auke Bay. Police responded and met with Coast Guard personnel, who had detained the captain of a 52-foot local tour boat. The vessel had been on a tour with passengers and crew members aboard when contacted by the Coast Guard. The man, 67 year-old Lawrence O. Dupler, failed field sobriety tests offered by Juneau Police. He was arrested, and later provided a breath sample revealing an alcohol concentration of .115%. Dupler was lodged at Lemon Creek Correctional Center on $1500 bail.
