On June 16, 2014 at about 9:34 AM, the white truck that was involved in the hit and run was located at a residence in the 8400 block of Decoy Avenue. The suspect truck, a 1994 Mazda, was positively identified due to broken plastic parts that were left behind at the collison scene. The suspect truck was impounded as evidence. The owners of the Mazda truck were not located.
At about 11:00 AM, the victim of the hit and run accident reported being contacted by the owner of the Mazda. The driver of the Mazda was reported as being the owner's 19 year old son.
Interviews with the owner of the Mazda, and the 19 year old driver, are pending.
Investigation continues.

On June 16, 2014 at about 02:15 AM, the Juneau Police Department received a report of a vehicle hit and run in the 4400 block of Julep St. The complainant described an older model Ford Ranger drove into their driveway and struck two parked vehicles. The vehicle then backed up and sped off towards Riverside Drive.
Responding officers were unable to locate the suspect vehicle in a search of the surrounding areas.
The investigation revealed that the suspect vehicle was traveling southbound on Julep Street, left the roadway where it drove across the victim?s lawn, and then struck two vehicles parked in the driveway. Damage to both vehicles was estimated at approximately $4,000.00.
The victim described the suspect truck as a white, single cab Ford Ranger with a body style between a 1995-1999 model year. The Ford Ranger is suspected to have front-end damage.
