Summary:

On May 23, 2014, at about 4:42 in the afternoon, officers and detectives of the Juneau Police Department (JPD) arrested twenty year old Regal Robert Hudson of Juneau for attempted sexual abuse of a minor in the second degree. He was lodged at the Lemon Creek Correctional center.

The case leading to Friday's arrest is one of multiple cases involving Hudson and sexual abuse of a minor, attempts of sexual abuse of a minor, online enticement, contributing to the deliquency of a minor. Those cases were worked by detectives in Juneau and Sitka. On May 24, at Hudson's first court appearance, the assistant district attorney added charges from the other cases for a total of eight felonies and one misdemeanor.

This investigation began for the Juneau Police Department with a report about Hudson received in March of 2014. The investigation began for the Sitka Police Department with a report received in January of 2013.

At the same time various aspects of the cases were being addressed in both towns a JPD detective began texting Hudson pretending to be a 13 year old girl. Plans were ultimately formulated for the two to meet for sex. When Hudson arrived at the location he was greeted by several JPD officers and detectives. It was the texting with the JPD detective that led to the initial arresting charge.

The total list of charges is as follows:

Sexual Abuse of a Minor Second Degree-3 counts (Class B Felony)
Attempted Sexual Abuse of a Minor in the Second Degree-2 counts (Class C Felony)
Online Enticement of a Minor- 3 counts (Class C Felony)
Contributing to the Deliquency of a Minor (Class A Misdemeanor)

At the conclusion of Hudson's first court appearance on these charges he was scheduled for further proceedings on May 27, at 1:15 in the afternoon, in Juneau. Hudson did not enter a plea. He is being held on $75,000 cash bond.
