On 05/17/14, about 6:14 PM, the Juneau Police Department was notified of a two-vehicle collision on Glacier Highway near Sunny Drive access. The preliminary investigation indicates that a 2007 Chevy Impala was stopped in traffic attempting to turn onto Sunny Drive. A 2000 Honda Nighthawk 750cc motorcycle was travelling outbound on Glacier Highway and struck the back end of the Chevy.
The Chevy was driven by a 29-year-old local male who sustained no injuries. The Honda was driven by a 49-year-old local male who was transported to Bartlett Regional Hospital with critical injuries.
At 2200 hours, JPD was notified the driver of the Honda motorcycle was being medevac?d to Harborview Medical Center with life threatening injuries.
This investigation is continuing.
