On May 8th, 2014, three juveiles approximately 8 years old are suspected of starting two fires near homes on Miner Driver. Two boys and one girl were seen leaving the area. Investigators found small pieces of paper with burnt edges, a white Bic lighter, and an empty plastic bottle that smelled of gasoline.
Given the age of the children, they are not likely candidates for criminal consequences. Given the potential danger of the children continuing to start fires, JPD would like to identify the children, consult with partents, and provide education and counseling about the dangers of playing with fire.
