On 04-28-2014 at 8:30 PM, Juneau Police received several reports of a disturbance in the downtown area. One caller reported a person was being assaulted in Marine Park before being dragged by several people through the Franklin Street area. A short time later, another caller reported being contacted by a relative who reported he had been assaulted by a group of people in the downtown area. The caller provided descriptions of the suspects, and JPD officers responded to the area and located a group of men fitting the description on Marine Way.
Police detained three people during the investigation, one of whom was later released. 21 year-old Connor Edge, a local resident, was charged with Assault in the Fourth Degree, a class ?A? misdemeanor. He was later lodged at the Lemon Creek Correctional Center on $1000 bail.
A second man, 21 year-old Kurtis Detemple, also a local resident, was arrested for Assaulting a Police Officer and Resisting Arrest. Following Detemple?s arrest, a JPD officer was treated for minor injuries at the Bartlett Regional Hospital and released. Detemple was held the Lemon Creek Correctional Center on $1000 bail.
Alcohol was a factor in this incident.
