On 04-12-14, at about 5:45PM, the Juneau Police Department received multiple calls about a motor vehicle collision between a vehicle and a bicyclist, in the area of Mendenhall Loop Road and Dudley Street.
Members of the Juneau Police Department and Capital City Fire and Rescure responded to the scene.
The bicyclist was being ridden by a 56 year old male Juneau resident. The vehicle, a 2004 Dodge Durango, was being driven by a 22 year old female Juneau resident. The bicyclist sustained injuries during the collision and was transported to the Bartlett Regional Hospital for medical evaluation.
Preliminary investigation showed that the bicyclist was intoxicated, riding against the lane of traffic and crossed into the oncoming lane of travel, striking the Dodge Durango.
The driver of the Dodge Durango was cited for failing to carry and show proof of insurance.
A citation is pending for the bicyclist for causing the collision.
