INFORMATION RELEASE

On 03/28/14 at 4:22 PM, the Juneau Police Department received a report of a domestic violence assault at a residence on Simpson Ave. The caller, who was the victim of the assault, reported being stabbed multiple times by her brother, who was armed with a knife.

Members of the Juneau Police Department, and Capital city Fire/Rescue responded to the residence. Upon their arrival, the male suspect had already fled the residence and wasn't located. The knife used in the assault wasn?t located, and is believed to be in possession of the suspect.

The victim of the assault was identified as a 22 year old female Juneau resident. She was transported to the Bartlett Regional Hospital for evaluation. It was later determined by hospital staff that the victim had sustained fourteen stab wounds. These injuries, although serious, do not appear to be life threatening.

The Juneau Police Department is looking to speak with 33 year old Wayne Walter Williams regarding him being a person of interest in this assault. Wayne Walter Williams is considered to be armed and dangerous.

The Juneau Police Department is cautioning anyone that may see Wayne Williams, to not contact him directly, but immediately contact the police department.

***UPDATE***

On March 30, 2014, at 3:45 PM, a caller reported a man fitting Williams' description on the beach near Douglas. JPD officers responded and located the man, who was Williams. He was taken into custody without incident, and lodged at the Lemon Creek Correctional Center on one count of Assault in the Second Degree. He is being held without bail.
