On February 19, 2014 at about 12:07am, the Juneau Police Department received a report of a single vehicle roll over crash in the area of 8 Mile Egan Drive. Juneau Police and Capital City Fire & Rescue responded to the area.
Upon arrival, Officers located a 2002 Chevrolet Prism on its side in the median. Investigation revealed the vehicle had been driving outbound on Egan Drive before leaving the roadway and rolling over. The driver, a 33 year old male Juneau resident, was transported to Bartlett Regional Hospital by ambulance for treatment of unknown injuries. The vehicle was estimated to be a total loss and was towed from the scene. Traffic on Egan Drive outbound was reduced to one lane for about 45 minutes while the crash scene was investigated and the vehicle removed.
Investigation into the crash continues. Speed and alcohol are believed to be factors in the crash.
