On 02/01/2014, at approximately 7:10 AM, the Juneau Police Department received a report of a motor vehicle collision that took place at the 3700 block of Amalga Street. The caller, a 19 year old female Juneau resident, reported that a red SUV had struck the side of her house. The caller said the driver had fled from the area in the red SUV.
JPD officers arrived in the area and the red SUV and driver were gone. Officers search the area and developed a possible suspect after interviewing witnesses. The suspect was identified as a 26 year old male Juneau resident.
On 02/02/2014, JPD officers located the 26 year old male suspect and he denied any involvement in the collision. The vehicle was not located.
On 02/06/2014, the suspect vehicle, a 1998 red Ford Expedition, was seized pursuant to a search warrant.
The investigation is continuing.
