On 01/09/2014, at approximately 1:06 PM, the Juneau Police Department received a report of a possible dead body located in the woods between the Switzer Village Trailer Park and the Dzantiki Heeni Middle School. Juneau police officers met with a 50 year old male Juneau resident, who reported locating the body while walking on a trail.
The witness took officers to the area and the deceased body was located. The deceased person was identified as 57 year old Juneau resident Hoyt Edward Galvan. Next of kin has been notified.
There were no signs of foul play discovered on Galvan?s body. Galvan was transported to Anchorage for an autopsy.
The investigation is continuing.
