INFORMATION RELEASE

On January 1, 2014 at 1:45 AM, Juneau Police received a report from a Mendenhall Valley bar regarding a patron fighting with a bar employee. Officers responded and interviewed the employee, who said he had escorted two patrons from the bar. Once outside, the patrons began fighting with each other. As the employee attempted to break up the fight between the two men, one of them punched the employee in the face. Officers located the suspect, who was leaving the area. He was placed under citizen?s arrest for Assault. The man, 25 year-old Anthony Agnes, was transported to the Bartlett Regional Hospital for clearance prior to being lodged at the Lemon Creek Correctional Center. While at BRH, Agnes bit a police officer on the arm. He was ultimately lodged at LCCC on two counts of Assault, which included one count of Assaulting a Police Officer.

At 2:19 AM, JPD received a report from a security employee at the State Office Building regarding a man who was attempting to fight with another security officer. When officers arrived at the scene, the suspect fled the area. Police later located the man at a nearby hotel, where he was taken into custody. Investigation revealed the man had kicked and damaged a door to the State Office Building, when he was contacted by security. At that point, the man attempted to physically attack one of the security employees. The employee wasn?t injured in the attack. The man, 20 year-old Guadalupe R. Flores, was arrested for Disorderly Conduct and Criminal Mischief. Flores was also charged with violating his State of Alaska felony probation. He was lodged at LCCC.
