On 11-27-13 at about 4:30pm, The Juneau Police Department received a report of a two vehicle crash on Egan Drive near Fred Meyer. Police and Capital City Fire & Rescue (CCFR) responded.
Upon arrival, officers discovered a 1998 Subaru and a 2007 Cadillac both with disabling damage blocking the outbound lanes of Egan Drive. Investigation revealed that the Subaru, driven by 78 year old Ronald DIPPOLD, made a left turn from Egan Drive toward Fred Meyer striking the Cadillac that was traveling outbound. CCFR evaluated both drivers and found no injuries.
DIPPOLD was cited for negligent driving. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.
The outbound lanes of Egan Drive were closed for about 40 minutes during investigation of the crash.
