On 11-03-13, about 7:55 pm, the Juneau Police Department responded to a request for assistance with the removal of five intoxicated people from a downtown hotel. Officers arrived and contacted five intoxicated subjects in a room. Four of the adult local residents were removed without incident. The fifth subject, a non-local male, was detained pending information received on a standard wants and warrants check.
The male was identified as 49-year-old Russell Bond of Washington State. Bond was wanted on an outstanding extraditable warrant for his arrest. The warrant stated he had escaped custody from Bellingham Washington on the original charge of Assault 2nd degree with a deadly weapon. Bond was arrested without incident and lodged at the Lemon Creek Correctional Center. He was additionally charged with Fugitive from Justice and held with no bail pending his extradition back to Washington.
