Summary:

On 10/13/2013, 33 year old Juneau resident Shane McCourt walked away from the Glacier Manor Halfway House.

On 10/15/2013, at approximately 11:09 PM, a Juneau Police officer located a disabled vehicle on Egan Drive inbound across from Fred Meyer. The vehicle had two occupants. The driver was identified as 33 year old Juneau resident William Buck Ratliff. The officer recognized the passenger as Shane McCourt, due to distinctive neck and head tattoos.

McCourt fled from the area on foot. While being chased by the officer, McCourt ran across Egan Drive toward Fred Meyer, jumped a fence and began running inbound on the bike path, jumped the fence a second time, again ran across Egan Drive where he ran inbound along the highway. As more officers arrived in the area, McCourt surrendered to the chasing officer and was taken in to custody.

Shane McCourt was arrested for Escape in the Second Degree, a Class B Felony, and Resisting Arrest, a Class A Misdemeanor. McCourt was transported to the Lemon Creek Correctional Center and held on No Bail.

William Ratliff was arrested for Hindering Prosecution in the First Degree, a Class C Felony. Rattliff was transported to the Lemon Creek Correctional Center and held on No Bail.

The vehicle Ratliff was driving was impounded.
