On September 26, 2013 at about 11:17am, the Juneau Police Department (JPD) received a 9-1-1 call reporting a vehicle had struck the Mendenhall Post Office.
A JPD officer responded to the scene. The investigation revealed that that an 83 year old male operating a 2012 Subaru Impreza had a mishap while attempting to park. The Subaru sustained about $1,000 in damage. The building sustained about $3,500 in damage. The parties involved exchanged information. The driver was evaluated on scene by Capital City Fire Rescue and then provided with courtesy transportation to his residence. No citations were issued.
