On 08/31/2013 about 0148 hours, the Juneau Police Department received a report that a male just broke the entry doors to Fred Meyer and entered the store.
Officers responded to the scene and located a male matching the description given by the complainant walking away from the area of Fred Meyer. Officers contacted and interviewed the male. The male was identified as 25-year-old local resident Brady Peterson. Peterson was detained while the investigation was on going.
The investigation revealed Peterson pried the doors to Fred Meyer open, entered the store, and took several items. The Stolen items were located on his person at the time he was contacted. After leaving the store, Peterson attempted to take a vehicle from the parking lot to escape the area. In the process of attempting to take a vehicle, Peterson damaged several vehicles in the parking lot.
Subsequently, Peterson was arrested and transported to the Lemon Creek Correctional Center. Peterson was lodged on one count of Burglary in the Second Degree (Class C Felony), one count of Attempted Vehicle Theft in the First Degree (Class A Misdemeanor), three counts of Criminal Mischief in the Fourth Degree (Class A Misdemeanor), one count of Criminal Trespass in the Second Degree (Class B Misdemeanor), one count of Theft in the Third Degree (Class A Misdemeanor) and one count of Theft in the Fourth Degree (Class B Misdemeanor). He was held without bail pending his arraignment.
