Subject: Motor Vehicle Collision

Summary:

On 07/15/2013, at approximately 6:05 PM, the Juneau Police Department received a report of a motor vehicle collision between a car and motorcycle near 3rd and D Street Douglas. JPD officers and Capital City Fire and Rescue personnel responded to the scene.

The investigation revealed that a 2001 Saab operated by 52 year old Juneau resident Kim Mungle was traveling on 3rd Street Douglas heading towards Sandy Beach. Mungle attempted to turn left onto D Street and struck the motorcycle. The motorcycle, a 1996 Harley Davidson, was operated by 52 year old Juneau resident Randall Ford. A 51 year old female Juneau resident was a passenger on the motorcycle. Both Ford and his passenger was transported to the Bartlett Regional Hospital for evaluation of non-life threatening injuries.

Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in this case.
