On 05/06/2013, at approximately 1049 hours, a Juneau Police officer saw a blue Subaru fail to stop for a stop sign at the intersection of 12th Street and Glacier Avenue. The officer turned on his emergency lights and siren in an attempt to stop the vehicle. The driver refused to stop and drove to Egan Drive. The vehicle continued outbound on Egan Drive at a high rate of speed. Due to safety concerns the officer stopped pursuing the vehicle.
At approximately 1054 hours, officers located the driver walking on Ridge Way. The driver was identified as 21 year old Juneau resident Judah ALDRIGHETTE.
The vehicle was located parked on Ridge Way. The investigation revealed that prior to officers attempting to stop the vehicle, it had been involved in a hit and run accident in the downtown area. The Subaru was impounded.
ALDRIGHETTE was placed under arrest for Failure to Stop at the Direction of a Peace Officer, a class C Felony. ALDRIGHETTE was also charged with Duty of an Operator Following an Accident, a class A Misdemeanor. ALDREGHETTE was transported to the Lemon Creek Correctional Center and held on No Bail.
The investigation is continuing.
