The Juneau Police Department is pleased to announce that recruitment is currently underway to fill seven police officer positions. The hiring is to fill two existing vacancies, as well as five new positions due to JPD taking over security for the Juneau International Airport. Taking over security for JIA is anticipated to occur on October 1st, 2013. The addition of five officers is the largest expansion of JPD officers since 1986.
