On 04/04/13, a Juneau School Administrator contacted the Juneau Police Department reference an assault on a student that occurred in Oregon during a school sponsored football camp. The alleged assault happened in July of 2012. The Juneau Police Department conducted the preliminary investigation and contacted the Gold Beach Police Department as the incident happened in their jurisdiction. Chief Dixon Andrews and District Attorney Everett Dial in Oregon have assumed responsibility for the case and will be assisted by the Juneau Police Department in this investigation. Chief Andrews will determine if the facts of the incident meet the Oregon Statues for a criminal violation.
