On March 18, 2013 at 2:21 PM, Juneau Police responded to a report of a motor vehicle collision involving a City and Borough of Juneau bus and a passenger car on Glacier Avenue, near Ross Way. Investigation revealed a 2005 Subaru Forester, which had been traveling inbound on Glacier Avenue, attempted a u-turn on the roadway in front of the bus. The Subaru was unable to turn completely, and backed up into the path of the bus. The bus was unable to stop in time, striking the Subaru in a ?t-bone? manner. A passenger on the bus was transported to the Bartlett Regional Hospital for treatment of apparently non-life threatening injuries.
The driver of the Subaru, 32 year-old Timothy Young, an Anchorage resident, was cited for Negligent Driving. The bus was driven by a 38 year-old local man.
Damage to the Subaru was estimated at $3000, damage to the bus at $1000.
