On January 16, 2013, at 2:25pm the Juneau Police Department received a report of a single vehicle rollover crash on Egan Drive near the McNugget intersection. Police and Capital City Fire & Rescue (CCFR) responded to the scene.
Investigation revealed that a 2013 Chevrolet Camaro being driven by 22 year old Juneau resident, Silver MAAKE, lost control, left the roadway, and struck a light pole before coming to a stop against a pedestrian bridge alongside Egan Drive.
Both Silver MAAKE, and a passenger in the vehicle, 23 year old Juneau resident Siaosi MAAKE, were extricated from the vehicle by CCFR then transported to Bartlett Regional Hospital by ambulance. Their injury status is not known at this time.
The vehicle is estimated to be totaled and was towed from the scene.
Investigation into the crash continues. Speed is a suspected factor.
