Subject: Pedestrian Vehicle Crash

Summary:

On January 13, 2013 at approximately 3:50pm, the Juneau Police Department(JPD) received a report of a crash between a pedestrian and a vehicle on North Franklin near 2nd Street. The caller said a vehicle ran over a males leg and continued without stopping.

The investigation revealed 23 year old Stephan ANDERSON was riding his skateboard against traffic down Franklin Street, when he struck a vehicle traveling up Franklin Street. After the collision, the vehicle did not stop to render aid. It is unknown if the driver of the vehicle was aware a collision took place. ANDERSON claimed the vehicle ran over his foot. Officers saw no visible injury to ANDERSON.

There were no witnesses to the actual collision, although bystanders said after the collision, they saw a small dark colored vehicle travelling up North Franklin Street. ANDERSON described a similar vehicle. No one could describe the driver.

ANDERSON was transported to the hospital by CCFR and cited for Use of Skateboard Restricted.

Anyone with information on the involved vehicle or driver vehicle is encouraged to call JPD.

The case remains under investigation.
