On December 2, 2012 at approximately 11:49 PM, the Juneau Police Department received a report of a medical call in the 8200 block of North Douglas Hwy. Capital City Fire Rescue personnel and Juneau police officers arrived and found a 26 year old local male unconscious and not breathing. The male was later identified as James Alfred BROWN. Lifesaving measures were attempted by CCFR and BROWN was pronounced dead December 3, 2012 at 12:29 AM.
Next of kin has been notified.
The State Medical Examiner?s Office was contacted and an autopsy was requested. BROWN had a small laceration on his forehead, but there were no other signs of trauma. Cause of death will need to be determined by the medical examiner.
Alcohol appears to be a contributing factor.
The investigation continues.
