On 11/08/2012, at approximately 9:20 AM, members of the Juneau Police Department Metro Drug Unit and two FBI agents contacted 25 year old Juneau resident Jessica BECK at the Juneau International Airport. BECK had just returned to Juneau from Seattle. BECK was detained on suspicion of transported drugs to Juneau.
Narcotic Investigators were granted a search warrant to search BECK for controlled substances. Upon execution of the search warrant it was discovered that BECK had two packages hidden on her person.
The packages contain approximately 111 grams of a substance that field tested positive as heroin. The suspected drugs will be sent to the State of Alaska Crime lab to confirm that the substance is heroin and to determine the exact weight of the drugs. The street value of the suspected heroin is estimated at approximately $110,000.
BECK was arrested for Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance in the 2nd Degree, a Class A Felony. BECK was transported to and lodged at the Lemon Creek Correctional Center and held on No Bail.
