On September 21, 2012 at about 11:20am, the principal of Thunder Mountain High School reported to police that a 14 year old student was in possession of a knife on school grounds.
While waiting for police to arrive, staff members of the school followed the student outside the building. Two of the staff members reported that although the student didn?t brandish the knife, they were placed in fear by the student?s words and actions.
When Officers arrived, the student was found to be in possession of two small folding blade pocket knives.
The student was placed under arrest for two counts of assault in the 4th degree for exhibiting threatening behavior and two counts of misconduct involving weapons in the 4th degree for possession of the knives on school grounds. The student was lodged at the Johnson Youth Center.
