On 08-06-2012 at 3:25 PM, the Juneau Police Department responded to a reported motor vehicle accident at the Egan Drive and Yandukin intersection. Investigation revealed a 1993 Dodge truck turning left onto Glacier Highway from Egan Drive inbound, collided with a 1999 Mitsubishi Mirage traveling in the outbound lane. The impact pushed the Dodge into the outbound acceleration lane from Fred Meyer, where it sideswiped a 2000 Chevrolet truck pulling a boat and trailer.
Damage to the Dodge was estimated at $1000, damage to the Chevrolet $5000, and the Mitsubishi was totaled.
The driver of the Dodge, 72 year-old Jerry W. Lewis, was cited for Failure to Yield When Turning Left. He was transported to the Bartlett Regional Hospital for treatment of apparent non life-threatening injuries.
