On 06-09-12, at about 10:30 in the evening, officers of the Juneau Police Department and FBI agents arrested 29 year old Christopher Craig Johnson in a parking lot at 2285 Trout Street. Johnson was arrested on a warrant out of Washington for escape from community custody. Johnson had been incarcerated on a charge of possession of drugs with intent to deliver. Washington authorities have designated Johnson as a violent offender.
Johnson has been lodged at the Lemon Creek Correctional Center as a fugitive from justice with no bail.
This is the second time Johnson has fled to Juneau from Washington while under criminal justice supervision. JPD reports show Johnson was previously arrested in Juneau in March of 2009. At that time he was wanted on a warrant from Washington stemming from robbery and escape charges. That attempt to take Johnson into custody led to Johnson having a six hour stand off with JPD officers before surrendering.
